Advertising Week will build on the success of the inaugural Canadian event held in 2009. Under the leadership of the ICA, Advertising Week will be held from January 25–29, 2010 in six of Canada’s creative hubs: Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. WEEK CREATED?
Advertising Week was founded to profile the accomplishments of the Canadian communications industry while providing inspiring thought leadership to facilitate ongoing success. The week also underscores the enormous economic contribution of over $20 Billion made annually by the industry to the Canadian economy.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND ADVERTISING
WEEK?
Whether one is from the East or West, from Central Canada, or anywhere in between, advertising touches virtually every aspect of one’s life in positive ways. Advertising Week was created for everyone. There are events and initiatives for students and CEOs and all levels in between, and for those in the creative industries and those who aspire to be creative. Advertising Week is highly inclusive and welcoming to all.

Advertising Week is spearheaded by the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) in conjunction with its member agencies, together with other associations, the media and companies which are involved in the communications industry. Advertising Week’s 2010 Chair is Claude Carrier of Bos, who has graciously consented to lead the initiative for a second year, having launched the successful inaugural event in 2009. Importantly, Advertising Week is inclusive, involving a variety of individuals and companies which want to celebrate the energy and momentum of Canada’s communication industry.

WHAT'S NEW FOR
2010
Advertising Week is proud to a launch a brand new easily navigated website to help inform interested participants of all the exciting and new initiatives. In Toronto, we have secured a new “social hub”, so the industry has a place to meet, network and mingle every day after work. This social hub is located at Lobby Restaurant and Bar, 192 Bloor Street West. Further, the culminating event for Advertising Week will be the first ever Ad Ball: A Fashion Fetish to be held on Friday, January 29th.

ICA
